Potty training for puppy

Potty training

Train the dog to urinate / large (housebreaking) should begin when they are puppy and it is not easy. However, the use of proper tools will make the training process easier for you and your puppy.

Things that need to be prepared:

Crate
Crate
Select a crate for the puppy enough to move and feel comfortable. Do not use a crate that is too large because of the extra space inside the crate, puppy will use it as a place to urinate / large.

Paper and Training Pads
Puppy training pads
This is a super absorbent pad that has a certain smell that encourages the dog to come. You can teach him where to go with putting training pads in the same place in your home. Once he has formed the habit, you can change the training pads with newspaper.

Treats
Treats
Since many dogs are motivated by food, prepare the treats for him. After he had gone to urinate / big right place, either outside or on paper, give it treats and say "good boy" to him.

Cleaning Fluids
Cleaning fluids
Puppy will have 'an accident' in your home at a time, therefore, prepare a quality cleaning. Do not buy generic carpet cleaning, but one that is designed to deal with pet feces.

Lead and Collar
Lead and collar
Lead and collar will help you keep track of your puppy in your home while you're training him to pee / great place designated. You can keep the puppy under your control, monitor him for signs of the urge to urinate / large, such as sniffing the floor, pacing or whining.

Barrier Gate
Dog barrier gate
A pet or baby gate will allow you to restrict your puppy to a special room in the house, such as the kitchen, while he is being trained. If you restrict the puppy to a room with floors that are easier to clean at times when you can not see him, you'll spend less time cleaning the dirt.

There are three different methods of house training:

Start In House
You can put training pads of paper or a certain place that will encourage the puppy to use this place to urinate / large. When you see the puppy start to show "pre-potty pattern," its like walking around and sniffing the floor, lift it gently without talking and put it on the paper / pad and then praise him when he finished.

When all goes well and he used the paper consistently, put the paper moving closer to the door or place some paper on the outside. Formed from the Transitions toilet habits move indoors into the outdoors. The only problem with this method is to encourage the puppy to urinate / great in the house. According to the experiences of some people who apply this method, potty training may take longer than other methods.

Crate
The second popular method involves the use of the crate. During housebreaking, whenever the puppy in the house, but can not be monitored, he was placed in a crate. The last thing you do before you put the dog in the crate is take him outside to his favorite spot. The first thing you do when you take the puppy out of the crate is take him out too. Do not place food or water inside the crate, but you can put a blanket or toy to occupy his time. As people trust you on the puppy, let him out for a longer time.

Most people do not recognize the important benefits of training using a crate. This is more than just stop the puppy from playing in the house. It also teaches something very important is to teach puppy learns that when the urge to urinate / large, he can help it.

Constant supervision
Last method does not involve paper, pad training, or crate. Instead, you chose to spend time with dogs. This method is suitable for people who live and work in their homes, retired persons, or in situations where the owner is always with a puppy. When you see the puppy sniff around or if you see him start to squat, quickly lift him and take him out.

It is important that the puppy attention at all times and that no errors are allowed to occur. This method has little room for error. When he was taken out, note the puppy closely and as soon as all goes according to plan, he should be praised and then brought back inside immediately. You want the puppy to understand that the purpose of taking him out is to go pee / large. Do not invite it to play. If he does not urinate / great in 10 minutes, place it in the crate for 10 to 15 minutes, then take it out again.

When he urinated / large, praise him with treats or play with him. Wait a few minutes before you bring him into to ensure he would not have to urinate / large lagi.Untuk people who have the time, this is a good method. We still recommend you have a crate as a backup when you have to be away from the puppy.

Eating and sleeping schedule that still can help in housebreaking. Puppy must get out as soon as they wake and also within a short time after eating. Be consistent when you feed and try to get up and sleep for the same time every day so you can predict when he needs to urinate / large. Remember that the puppy is a small baby. Do not be anxious and angry if he does not understand you for the first few days. He will need some time to understand your instructions and understand the importance of going out to urinate / large.
